Infusion of the leaves of the large plantain enhances the secretion of bronchial glands, has a mucolytic, anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates the secretion of gastric juice, increases its acidity.
Indications
As an expectorant for respiratory diseases (bronchitis, tracheitis, etc.) as part of complex therapy.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Hypersecretion of gastric juice, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum during exacerbation.

Dosage and administration
About 10 g (2 tablespoons) of the leaves are placed in an enamel bowl, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, close the lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw materials are squeezed. The volume of the resulting infusion was adjusted with boiled water to 200 ml.
Take the infusion 2 to 3 times a day 30 minutes after eating for 7 to 10 days: children under 3 years old – 1 teaspoon each, children 3 to 5 years old – 1 tablespoon each, children 6 to 14 years old – 2-3 tablespoons, children over 14 years old and adults – 1/2 cup.
Shake the infusion before use.
Side effects
Allergic reactions are possible, in rare cases, heartburn.
