Pharmacological action of
Magnesium plays an important role in the activity of the nervous system, participates in the regulation of transmission of nerve impulses and in muscle contraction, in most metabolic reactions, promotes the production and consumption of energy, plays an important physiological role in maintaining ion balance.
Magnesium deficiency manifests itself in the form of neuromuscular disorders (muscle weakness, trembling, cramps, cramps), mental disorders (insomnia, irritability, anxiety), heart rhythm disturbances (extrasystole, tachycardia) and gastrointestinal activity (pain, diarrhea, cramping, bloating intestines). Vitamin B6 plays an important role in metabolism, helps maintain the structure and function of bones, teeth, gum affects erythropoiesis, contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system and complements the effect of magnesium.
Vitamin B12 and folic acid are involved in many enzymatic reactions.
Indications
Prevention of magnesium deficiency and related disorders, such as: insomnia, irritability, anxiety, asthenia, apathy.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in: severe renal failure (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml / min)

Use during pregnancy and lactation
The drug can be used during pregnancy only as directed by a doctor.
Magnesium passes into breast milk, therefore, the use of the drug during breastfeeding should be avoided.
Special instructions
With frequent use of laxatives, alcohol, increased physical and mental stress, the need for magnesium increases.
In the case of concomitant calcium deficiency, magnesium deficiency should be eliminated before the additional appointment of calcium intake.

Dosage and administration
Inside, in the morning, previously dissolved in a glass of water. Adults – 1-2 tablets. Children from 6 to 12 years old – 1/2 tablet.
Side effects
Allergic reactions, dyspeptic disorders (diarrhea, abdominal pain). When used in high doses, the development of hypermagnesemia is possible.
Drug Interactions
Phosphates and calcium salts reduce the absorption of magnesium in the digestive tract. Magnesium preparations reduce the absorption of tetracycline. It is recommended to make an interval of at least 3 hours before applying Magnesium plus. Vitamin B6 inhibits the activity of levodopa.
Overdose
Symptoms: fall in blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, slowing of reflexes, respiratory depression, coma, cardiac arrest and paralysis of the heart, anuria.
Treatment: rehydration, forced diuresis. Renal insufficiency requires hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
