Description

Pharmacological action

The mechanism of action of the active substances included in the drug is based on the inhibition of fumarate reductase, persistent depolarization of the helminth muscle cells, impaired energy metabolism, which causes paralysis and death of the parasite and helps to remove it from the gastrointestinal tract. When administered orally, praziquantel is rapidly absorbed in the intestine and distributed in organs and tissues, excreted mainly in the urine in the metabolized form of pyrantel, pamoate is partially absorbed in the intestine and excreted mainly with feces within 24-48 hours.

Composition

1 ml of the preparation contains: Praziquantel – 3 mg Pyrantela pamoate – 30 mg

Dosage and administration

For prophylactic and therapeutic deworming of nematodoses, cestodoses and mixed invasions in cats and kittens, the drug is used at a rate of 1 ml per 1 kg of animal weight once. The drug is recommended for kittens – from 3 weeks of age 10 days before vaccination, pregnant cats – in the second half of pregnancy under the supervision of a veterinarian, nursing cats – 3 weeks after delivery under the supervision of a veterinarian. With a strong degree of invasion (infection), treatment must be repeated after 10 days. Preventive deworming should be carried out once every 3 months.
