Description

Pharmacological action of

Heparin antagonist, forms stable complexes with heparin, while eliminating the ability of heparin to inhibit blood coagulation. Complexation is due to the abundance of cationic groups (due to arginine), which bind to the anionic centers of heparin. The action occurs instantly (on the needle). In case of an overdose, it may decrease blood coagulability, as It exhibits anticoagulant activity. The duration of the effect is 2 hours

Indications

Overdose of heparin (hyperheparinemia, bleeding) before surgery in patients who take heparin for therapeutic purposes after operations on the heart and blood vessels with extracorporeal circulation.

Contraindications

Idiopathic or congenital hyperheparinemia, severe hypotension, thrombocytopenia, adrenal insufficiency.

Recommended use

Intravenously injected slowly or drip under the control of blood coagulation.

In case of an overdose of heparin, a 1 ml solution is injected at a rate of 1 ml in 2 minutes. If necessary, the injections are repeated at intervals of 15-30 minutes, the total dose is usually 5 ml of a 1% solution.

The maximum dose is 150 mg / h.

In case of bleeding, the daily dose is 5-8 mg / kg iv administered in 2 divided doses with an interval of 6 hours.

Special instructions

In case of overdose, it may decrease blood coagulation, as itself has anticoagulant activity.

0.05 M solution of sulfuric acid – up to pH 4.0-6.0 water for injection – up to 1 ml.
