Pharmacological action
Motherwort has a sedative, anticonvulsant, cardiotonic and diuretic effect.
Regulates the functional state of the central nervous system, has a calming effect, reduces increased nervous irritability, potentiates the hypnotic effect, shows antagonism in relation to the convulsive effect of analeptics. Effective for psychoasthenia, neurasthenia and neurosis, accompanied by insomnia, a feeling of tension and increased reactivity. Corrects functional disorders of the central nervous system and autonomic nervous system in the premenopausal and menopausal periods. It has a negative chronotropic effect, regulates the heart rate during vegetative-vascular dystonia, shows cardiotonic properties, lowers blood pressure. With cardiovascular disorders, including with hypertension, angina pectoris, cardiosclerosis and myocarditis, palpitations, heart weakness, has a beneficial effect on the course of the disease.
Has an antispastic, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, general strengthening effect.
