Pharmacological action
Combilipen – a combined multivitamin complex. The effect of the drug is determined by the properties of vitamins that make up its composition.
Benfotiamine is a fat-soluble form of thiamine (vitamin B1). Participates in a nerve impulse.
Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) – is involved in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and fats, is necessary for normal blood formation, the functioning of the central and peripheral nervous system. It provides synaptic transmission, inhibition processes in the central nervous system, is involved in the transport of sphingosine, which is part of the nerve sheath, and is involved in the synthesis of catecholamines.
Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) – participates in the synthesis of nucleotides, is an important factor in the normal growth, hematopoiesis and development of epithelial cells is necessary for the metabolism of folic acid and the synthesis of myelin.
Indications
It is used in the complex treatment of the following neurological diseases: trigeminal neuralgia
facial neuritis
pain caused by diseases of the spine (intercostal neuralgia, lumbar ischialgia, lumbar syndrome, cervical, vertebral vertebral syndrome )
polyneuropathy of various etiologies (diabetic, alcoholic).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug Combilipen, severe and acute forms of decompensated heart failure. Pregnancy and lactation.
Special instructions
Combibipene contains benzyl alcohol. Do not prescribe to children because of the content of benzyl alcohol in the preparation.
Dosage and administration of
The drug is administered intramuscularly.
With severe manifestations of 2 ml daily for 5-7 days, then 2 ml 2-3 times a week for 2 weeks in mild cases, 2 ml 2-3 times a week for 7-10 days.
Duration is determined by the doctor individually, depending on the severity of the symptoms of the disease, but should not exceed two weeks. For maintenance therapy, the administration of oral forms of B vitamins is recommended.
Side effects
Allergic reactions (skin reactions in the form of pruritus, urticaria), increased sweating, tachycardia, acne, difficulty breathing, Quincke’s edema, anaphylactic shock.
Drug interaction
Levodopa reduces the effect of therapeutic doses of vitamin B6. Vitamin B12 is incompatible with heavy metal salts. Ethanol dramatically reduces the absorption of thiamine. When taking the drug, it is not recommended to take multivitamin complexes that include B vitamins.
Overdose
Symptoms: increased side effects of the drug.
