Use during pregnancy and lactation
Due to the fact that safety data on the use of terbinafine in pregnant women are not available, Terbizil in this category of patients is used only in cases where the expected positive effect exceeds the potential risk.
Terbinafine is excreted in breast milk, so the use of the drug during lactation is contraindicated.

Dosage and Administration
Inside, after meals.
The duration of the course of treatment and the dosage regimen are established individually and depend on the localization of the process and the severity of the disease.
Adults. The usual dose is 250 mg / day.
Onychomycosis: the duration of therapy is an average of 6-12 weeks. With damage to the nails of the fingers and toes (except for the big toe) or in young patients, the duration of treatment may be less than 12 weeks. For a big toe infection, a 3-month course of treatment is usually sufficient. Some patients who have reduced nail growth rates may require a longer treatment period.
Fungal infections of the skin: the duration of treatment for interdigital, plantar, or socks-like infection localization is 2 6 weeks, for tibial mycosis 2 4 weeks, trunk 2 4 weeks for fungal infections of the genus Candida weeks with scalp fungal infections caused by fungi of the genus Microsporum – more than 4 weeks.
Children. Usually prescribed 125 mg. With a body weight of 20 to 40 kg – 125 mg / day. With a body weight of more than 40 kg – 250 mg / day. The duration of treatment for mycosis of the scalp is about 4 weeks, with infection with Microsporum canis it can be longer.
For elderly patients, the drug is prescribed in the same doses as adults.
Patients with hepatic and renal insufficiency Terbizil ® are prescribed at a dose of 125 mg per day.
Side effects of the
From the digestive system: often – a feeling of fullness of the stomach, loss of appetite, dyspepsia, nausea, mild abdominal pain, diarrhea rarely – disturbances or loss of taste (restoration occurs within a few weeks after stopping treatment) in some cases – cholestasis, jaundice, hepatitis (although a causal relationship between these disorders and taking Terbizil has not been established, in the case of hepatobiliary dysfunction, treatment with the drug should be canceled).
From the hemopoietic system: in some cases – neutropenia, thrombocytopenia.
Allergic reactions: often – rash, urticaria: in some cases – Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (with the development of progressive skin rash, treatment with Terbisil should be discontinued).
Overdose
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain.
Treatment: gastric lavage followed by activated charcoal. If necessary, conduct symptomatic therapy.
