Pharmacological action

Indications

Active prophylaxis of viral hepatitis A in children aged 3 years, adolescents and adults.

Excipients: aluminum hydroxide 0.5 mg, formaldehyde not more than 0.15 mg, phosphate buffered saline 0.01 M to 1 ml.

Dosage and administration

The vaccine is administered intramuscularly into the deltoid muscle (shoulder muscle).

One vaccination dose is 0.5 ml for children and adolescents, 1.0 ml for adults. The vaccination course, which provides long-term protection against hepatitis A disease, consists of two vaccinations carried out with an interval of 6-12 months. A single injection of the vaccine provides protection against infection for up to 12 months.

Intravenous vaccine is not allowed!

Opening of ampoules and the vaccination procedure is carried out with strict observance of the rules of asepsis and antiseptics. Before entering the syringe, the vaccine is thoroughly mixed by shaking the ampoule. When using an ampoule containing several doses, each dose should be administered using a separate sterile syringe with a sterile needle. The vaccine from an opened multidose ampoule should be used within 30 minutes.

The drug is not suitable for use in ampoules with impaired integrity, labeling, as well as when changing physical properties (color, transparency, etc.). Vaccinations carried out are recorded in the established accounting forms with the date, dose, manufacturer, batch number, reaction to vaccination.

Side effects

In isolated cases, vaccinated individuals may experience malaise, headache, short-term low-grade fever. In rare cases, there is a passing minor pain or muscle twitching at the injection site, as well as slight skin hyperemia or mild edema, which disappear after 1-2 days.

Given the theoretical possibility of developing immediate allergic reactions in particularly sensitive individuals, vaccinated patients must be monitored for 30 minutes. Vaccination sites should be provided with anti-shock therapy.

Drug Interactions

Algwak M can be used simultaneously with other inactivated vaccines of the national vaccination calendar and the vaccination calendar for epidemiological indications (except for the rabies vaccine), provided that the vaccines are administered in different parts of the body.

The vaccine should not be mixed in the same syringe with other vaccines.

Storage Conditions
