Indications
Psychogenic impotence, functional impotence (accompanied by erectile dysfunction), atony of the bladder, menopause in men.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug, liver and / or renal failure, hypertension or hypotension, coronary heart disease, concomitant use of adrenostimulants.
Precautions – peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, mental illness.
Special instructions
The drug is not recommended for combination with antidepressants and other mood-affecting drugs.
Composition
1 tablet contains 5 mg yohimbine hydrochloride.
Excipients: potato starch, milk sugar, calcium stearate.
Dosage and administration
1-2 tablets are taken orally during meals, without chewing and drinking with a glass of water 1-3 times a day. The duration of treatment is 3-10 weeks. After the break, a second course of treatment can be carried out, not earlier than after 10 weeks.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant administration of clonidine is not indicated, since the effects of the drugs are mutually neutralized. Yohimbine can change the activity of antihypertensive drugs, potentiate the effect of antidepressants and increase the risk of their side effects, reduce the activity of alprozalam. Clopiramine increases the level of yohimbine in blood plasma.
Overdose
Symptoms: general weakness, generalized paresthesia, memory impairment and coordination of movement, headache, dizziness, tremor, tachycardia, arterial hypertension, a sense of fear, hallucinations, nausea, vomiting, mydriasis, salivation and lacrimation, increased sweating, increased levels of norepinephrine in blood plasma.
Treatment: antidote – clonidine is prescribed orally in an initial dose of 0.1-0.2 mg, then again at hourly intervals in a dose of 0.1 mg. Symptomatic treatment: anti-hypertensive drugs to eliminate feelings of fear or hallucinations are prescribed benzodiazepines (you cannot prescribe antipsychotics of the phenothiazine series).
