Description
Pharmacological action
Antiseptic and oxidant groups, has a hemostatic effect. When hydrogen peroxide comes in contact with damaged skin and mucous membranes, active oxygen is released, and mechanical purification and inactivation of organic substances (proteins, blood, pus) occurs. The antiseptic effect of the drug is not sterilizing, with its use there is only a temporary decrease in the number of microorganisms.
Indications
Treatment of purulent and bleeding wounds, stopping of capillary bleeding, etc. For washing and rinsing with stomatitis, tonsillitis, gynecological diseases.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity.
Composition
Medical concentrated hydrogen peroxide – from 75 to 110 g
(depending on the actual hydrogen peroxide content in the original preparation)
Sodium benzoate – 0.5 g
Purified water – up to 1000 ml
Dosage and administration
Damaged skin and mucous membranes are treated with a cotton or gauze swab moistened with a solution of hydrogen peroxide, contaminated wounds, ulcers are treated with a jet.
To treat mucous membranes in the form of rinses and rinses, when rinsing the mouth and throat, the drug is diluted with water to a concentration of 0.2-0.3% (1 tablespoon per glass of water).
Side effects
Perhaps a burning sensation when treating a wound, in rare cases, allergic reactions.
