As active ingredients, an ovostop in 1 ml contains megestrol acetate 11.0 mg, prooxane 11.0 mg and melatonin 110.0 mg.
Megestrol acetate acts on the hypothalamic-pituitary system, blocks the secretion of gonadotropin hormones by the adenohypophysis.
Proroxan blocks postsynaptic 1- and presynaptic 2-adrenergic receptors.
Melatonin is a synthetic analogue of the hormone pineal gland.
The simultaneous exposure of three active substances to the animal’s body blocks the processes associated with the occurrence of estrus in females and cats and the state of sexual arousal in cats and dogs.
Indications
Ovostop is used by cats and bitches for contraception and regulation of sexual behavior.
Contraindications
Ovostop should not be used in immature, pregnant and lactating animals.
Drugs are contraindicated in diseases of the reproductive system, breast tumors, diabetes mellitus, hormonal disorders, allergic diseases, lymphoma, autoimmune diseases, lymphogranulomatosis, leukemia, myeloma, epilepsy, chronic renal failure.
Directions for use
Ovostop is applied once in the evening by dripping on dry intact skin in the back between the shoulder blades or in the neck at the base of the skull in a dose of 1 ml per cat, regardless of body weight.

in the absence of effect 24 hours the drug is applied repeatedly in the same dose.
The effect of using the drug in cats is longer for up to 4-6 months with a short daylight and in young animals, with a long daylight the effect lasts for 2-3 months. In dogs, in connection with a longer sexual cycle, a single application of the drug delays ovulation for up to 6 months.
Special instructions
Do not wash or bathe the animal for 48 hours before and after treatment, or apply the product on wet or damaged skin.
Side effects
In case of an overdose of Ovostop, pathological changes in the tissues of the uterus and ovaries, increased body weight, increased appetite, lethargy, slight hypertrophy of the mammary glands may develop.
