Description

Pharmacological action

Combined insecticide and acaricidal drug contact action. Contains fipronil and S-metoprene as active ingredients.

Fipronil is an insecticide of the phenylpyrazole group, the mechanism of contact action is to block GABA-dependent arthropod receptors, impaired transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites.

(S) -methoprene – an analogue of juvenile hormone, an insect growth regulator disrupting chitin synthesis, causes anomalies in the development of insects at the egg and larva stages, and prevents the appearance of sexually mature insects in animals and in their places of detention.

After application to the skin, the active substances are gradually distributed over the entire surface of the animal ² „¢s body for 24 hours, practically not absorbed into the systemic circulation, accumulate in the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands, have a long contact effect, protecting the animal from ectoparasites.

A single treatment of the animal ensures the destruction of fleas and ticks within 24 and 48 hours, respectively. The protective effect of the drug against ixodid ticks continues in cats, dogs and ferrets – up to 4 weeks against the adult and preimaginal phases of insect development in cats and ferrets – up to 6 weeks, in dogs – up to 12 weeks.

Fiprist ® Combo, according to the degree of exposure to the body, is classified as moderately hazardous (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), at the recommended doses it does not exert a locally irritating, resorptive-toxic, embryotoxic and teratogenic effect, if it comes into contact with the eyes, it causes slight irritation . The drug is toxic to rabbits, as well as fish and other aquatic organisms.

Indications

Fiprist ® Combo is prescribed for dogs, cats and ferrets: – for the treatment and prevention of entomoses caused by fleas, lice and lice-eaters

– for the treatment and prevention of acaroses caused by Ixodes ticks

– in the treatment of allergic dermatitis to prevent the attachment and development of ectoparasites in animals.

Contraindications

– Increased sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug (including a history of).

Special instructions

Fiprist ® Combo should not be used in conjunction with other insecticaricides for the treatment of animals.

Do not wash animals with detergents, keep them in natural water for 48 hours after treatment, and apply the product on wet or damaged skin.

The drug can be used for pregnant and lactating females and pregnant cats. The drug is not recommended for use by lactating cats with kittens younger than 8 weeks of age. There is no data on the safety of the drug for lactating and pregnant female ferrets, therefore, the drug in this group of animals is used under the supervision of a veterinarian.

Fiprist ® Combo is not intended for the processing of productive animals.

Personal preventive measures

When carrying out treatment and preventive measures using the drug Fiprist ® Combo, rubber gloves should be used. During work, it is not allowed to smoke, drink or eat food. At the end of the work, wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap, wash and dry the gloves.

Within 24 hours after treatment, the animal should not be ironed and kept out of the reach of young children.

People with hypersensitivity to fipronil and S-metoprene should avoid direct contact with Fiprist ® Combo.

In case of accidental contact with the drug on the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, it must immediately be washed off with plenty of running water and soap. In case of allergic reactions and / or in case of accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have the instructions for use or label with you).

Empty drug packaging should be disposed of with household waste.

Dosing and dosage

Fiprist ® Combo is applied to animals once by topical application (spot-on) to dry, intact skin using pipettes of various packaging. Before processing, the tip of the pipette is punctured with an inverted cap, the animal’s fur is spread in the back (between the shoulder blades) and, by pressing the pipette, the preparation is applied to the skin at the withers at one or more points in a minimum dose of 0.067 ml / kg, according to the table.

For the treatment of dogs weighing more than 60 kg, use a combination of pipettes of different volumes.

The drug is applied to the animal on an area of the body inaccessible to licking, avoiding contact of the drug with the eyes. Cohabiting animals are kept separately until the preparation completely dries.

Repeated treatment of animals is carried out according to indications, but not more often than 1 time in 4 weeks. In order to prevent re-infestation of animals by fleas, it is recommended to treat all animals living together together, as well as replace litter or treat them with an insecticidal agent in accordance with the instructions for its use.

Peculiarities of the drug during the first use and withdrawal were not detected. A wet or oily stain may be noted on the animal ™s coat for 24 hours after application.

Violations of the drug regimen should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. If the next treatment is skipped, it should be carried out as soon as possible in the same dose.

Side effects

When using the drug in accordance with the instructions for side effects and complications in animals, as a rule, is not observed. It is very rare at the place of application of the drug that wool can stick together, a mild skin reaction (itching, hair loss, redness of the skin), if the drug gets inside – excessive salivation.

In case of increased individual sensitivity and the appearance of allergic reactions, the drug should be washed off with water and a detergent, and if necessary, antihistamines should be prescribed.
