Pharmacological action of
Contraceptive drug Widora inhibits ovulation and causes changes in the endometrium. In therapeutic doses, drospirenone also exhibits antiandrogenic and minor antimineralocorticoid properties. The antimineralocorticoid effect of drospirenone prevents weight gain and symptoms caused by fluid retention in the body.
Indications
Vidora is used for oral contraception.
Composition of
drospirenone 3 mg
ethinyl estradiol 0.02 mg
Excipients: lactose monohydrate – 44 mg, pregelatinized corn starch – 38.4 mg, povidone K30 – 6 mg, croscarmella 1.2 mg – 0.9 mg sodium margarose 0.5 mg mg
Dosage and administration
Widora is administered orally (orally). Tablets must be taken daily at approximately the same time according to the pattern indicated on the blister. Tablets are washed down with a small volume of liquid.
Tablets are taken without interruption, 1 unit per day. Reception of tablets from each new package begins the next day after taking the last tablet from the previous package. Withdrawal bleeding, as a rule, begins 2-3 days after the start of taking inactive tablets (white) and may not end by the beginning of taking active tablets (yellow) from the next package.
Overdose of
Overdose with combined oral contraceptives may develop symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, vaginal bleeding (in girls). Treatment for overdose symptomatic specific antidotes do not exist.
