Description

Pharmacological action of

Dehinel Plus, due to its active ingredients, has antiparasitic activity against cestodes: Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Mesocestoides lineatus, Diphyllobothpsiumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumidumium latipidium latium multiply. and nematodes: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria spp., Ancylostoma spp., Trichuris vulpis. Febantel, moderately absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, causes nematodes to inhibit tubulin protein synthesis and glucose uptake, while inhibiting fumarate reductase, an enzyme responsible for the energy exchange of helminths. Pyrantel embonate is very poorly absorbed when administered orally and therefore has its effect directly on the surface of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract of a sick dog. It blocks neuromuscular transmission of an impulse in nematodes and causes paralysis of the helminth muscles, so parasites are easily removed from the gastrointestinal tract of the host. Praziquantel is well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and has a detrimental effect on cestodes (tapeworms) by increasing the permeability of the parasite cell membranes for calcium ions and suppressing fumarate reductase, which causes a spastic contraction of the parasite’s muscles, which turns into paralysis. Praziquantel is excreted in the bile unchanged. Dehinel Plus, in terms of its effect on the body of warm-blooded animals, is a low-hazard substance and does not have a sensitizing and hepatotoxic effect in recommended doses.
