Description
Pharmacological action
It has a pronounced insecticaricidal activity against the larval and sexually mature phases of the development of fleas, lice, whipworms, ixodic and sarcoptic mites, and also has a repellent effect.
After the cutaneous application of the drug, its components fipronil and diflubenzuron, practically not absorbed into the systemic circulation, accumulate in the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands of the animal ² ¢s body and have a long contact and intestinal insect-acaricidal effect.
The mechanism of action of fipronil is a violation of the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of insects and ticks. The insect growth regulator disrupts chitin synthesis in parasites and thus breaks their life cycle.
Indications
Dogs and cats for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in case of entomoses (lice, fleas, lice-eaters), sarcoptosis, notedrosis and ixodid ticks, as well as to prevent the attack of ectoparasites on animals.
Contraindications
Pregnant and lactating females with infectious diseases and recovering animals, puppies and kittens under 10 weeks of age should not be treated. The drug is toxic to rabbits, as well as fish and other aquatic organisms.
Composition
The preparation contains fipronil, diflubenzuron – an insect growth regulator and excipients, including citronella essential oil.
Dosage and administration
Applied by drip application to dry intact skin once. The duration of the protective effect of the drug lasts for 1-2 months.
