A mixture of yellowish-brown particles with brown and greenish-brown blotches. The smell is faint. The taste of water extract is bitter.
Pharmacological action
Infusion of buckthorn bark has a laxative effect due to the presence of anthracene derivatives of glycosides, which cause irritation of the receptors of the mucous membrane of the large intestine.
The laxative effect usually occurs 8 to 12 hours after taking the drug.
Indications
Chronic constipation.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, constipation of neurogenic and endocrine origin, spastic constipation, intestinal obstruction, bleeding, acute abdominal syndrome, appendicitis, enteritis, colitis, acute febrile conditions.
Pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding.
Children under 12 years old.

Dosage and administration
2 filter bags are placed in glass or enameled dishes, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) boiling water, cover and insist for 15 minutes. The filter bags are squeezed out, the volume of the obtained infusion is adjusted to 100 ml with boiled water.
Take inside 1/2 cup at night or in the morning.
Side effects
Allergic reactions possible.
In case of an overdose, colicky abdominal pain, tenesmus, a feeling of discomfort in the abdomen, urine staining in yellow are possible.
Long-term use leads to addiction and weakening or lack of laxative effect.
Storage conditions
Store in a dry, dark place.
Store the prepared infusion in a cool place for no more than 2 days.
