Pharmacological action of
Anauran is an antimicrobial and local anesthetic drug for local use in ENT practice
Indications
Acute and chronic otitis externa
Medium acute otitis media in the pre-perforation stage.
Chronic exudative otitis media.
Postoperative purulent complications after:
Radical mastoidectomy.
tympanoplasty.
Antrotomy.
fenestration.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to one of the components of Anauran.
In children under 1 year of age, the drug should be used only in case of emergency and under the supervision of a physician.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
During pregnancy and lactation, Anauran should only be used if absolutely necessary and under the supervision of a physician.
Composition
100 ml contain:
Active substances:
polymyxin B sulfate 1,000,000 IU,
neomycin sulfate 0.5 g (equivalent to 375,000 IU)
lidocaine hydrochloride
Dosage and administration
Anauran is instilled into the external auditory meatus using a special pipette and held there for as long as possible (the patient keeps his head tilted to one side for several minutes).
Adults – 4 5 drops 2 4 times a day,
for children 2 3 drops 3-4 times a day, depending on the severity of the disease.
Side effects
Local allergic reactions are possible, which disappear without treatment after withdrawal of Anauran: Hyperemia, itching and peeling of the skin of the external auditory canal.
Systemic effects are unlikely due to low doses of the drug used.
However, with prolonged treatment with Anauran, systemic effects may occur, in particular, ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity due to the absorption of neomycin.
Drug Interaction
Incompatible with monomycin, streptomycin, gentamicin, amikacin, netilmicin (increase in ototoxic effect of the above antibiotics is possible).
