Pharmacological action

Pikovit ® syrup for children, contains a complex of vitamins, which are important factors in the metabolic processes in the body.

Pikovit Syrup contains 9 essential vitamins for children from 1 year. The drug is used as a prophylactic, as well as as part of complex therapy to improve well-being in various diseases, accelerate recovery.

The multivitamin complex has a pleasant fruity taste based on a natural extract of grapefruit and orange, and thanks to its liquid form of syrup, Pikovit is easy to give to young children.

In infants of the second year of life, the growth of organs and tissues continues, all body systems are formed, therefore, the need for vitamins that help to develop normally, help improve the functioning of organs and systems, and improve resistance to diseases.

Vitamin A is involved in the synthesis of various substances (proteins, lipids, mucopolysaccharides) and provides normal function of the skin, mucous membranes, as well as the organ of vision.

Vitamin D3 plays an important role in maintaining the balance of calcium and phosphorus in the body. With its lack in bone tissue, the calcium content decreases (osteoporosis).

Vitamin B1 normalizes the activity of the heart and contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.

Special instructions

Possibly staining urine in yellow is completely harmless and is explained by the presence of riboflavin in the preparation.

It is not recommended to take Pikovit together with other drugs containing vitamins.

5 ml of Pikovit syrup contains 3.3 g of sucrose, 0.7 g of glucose, therefore the drug is not recommended for children with congenital intolerance to glucose and fructose, with glucose / galactose malabsorption syndromes and sucrose / isomaltose deficiency.

The drug contains an azo dye E 124, which can cause a hypersensitivity reaction with an asthmatic component. Similar reactions are more often observed in patients with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid. Benzoic acid has a slightly irritating effect on the skin and mucous membranes.

Composition of

5 ml of syrup contains:

Active substances: retinol palmitate 1.7 Mio ME / g (vitamin A) – 900 IU, colecalciferol 1 Mio ME / g (vitamin D3) – 100 IU, riboflavin sodium phosphate (vitamin B2 ) – 1 mg, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) – 0.6 mg, thiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B1) – 1 mg, cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) – 1 ?g, ascorbic acid (vitamin C) – 50 mg, nicotinamide (vitamin PP ) – 5 mg, dexpanthenol (D-panthenol) – 2 mg.

Excipients: agar, tragacanth gum, sucrose, liquid dextrose (glucose), orange oil, grapefruit flavoring, orange flavoring, polysorbate 80 (tween 80), citric acid, monohydrate, crimson dye [Ponso 4R] (E124, sodium) , purified water.

Dosage and administration

The drug is taken orally.

Children aged 1 to 3 years: 1 teaspoon 2 times a day (10 ml of syrup per day).

Children aged 4 to 6 years: 1 teaspoon 3 times a day (15 ml of syrup per day)

Children aged 7 to 14 years: 1 teaspoon 3-4 times a day (15-20 ml of syrup per day).

Syrup can be given from a spoon or mixed with tea, juice or fruit puree. In the absence of appetite, syrup should be given daily for 1 month. A second course of administration after 1-3 months or as recommended by a doctor.

Drug Interactions

Vitamin C enhances the action and side effects of the antimicrobial agents from the sulfonamide group (including the appearance of crystals in the urine).
