Pharmacological action

Adhesive BF-6 is a wound healing and antiseptic drug. Used as an insulating agent, promotes the healing of small skin wounds due to the formation of an insulating film on their surface. The latter is flexible and resistant to mechanical and chemical influences. When the tooth root is coated with BF-6 glue, conditions are created for the isolation of microflora of small root tubules from tissue destruction products.

Indications

Adhesive BF-6 is used to treat microtraumas – abrasions, scratches, cuts and other minor skin lesions, as well as to cover the root of the tooth during surgical treatment of near-root dental foci of infection: cysts, granulomas.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance to the drug. Children’s age up to 1 year.

Composition

The composition of the glue includes: A solution of the modification of phenol-formaldehyde – resin, polyvinyl butyral and rosin, plasticized with a plasticizer.

Dosage and administration

Adhesive BF-6 is used topically for adults and children. Children under one year of age are not recommended to use Adhesive BF-6. Before applying BF-6 glue, the skin area is thoroughly cleaned of impurities. With a cotton or gauze swab, bleeding is stopped and the place to be covered with glue is dried. The latter is applied to the skin with a thin uniform layer until the damage area and adjacent undamaged tissues are completely covered (the dressing is not applied). In case of violation of the integrity of the film, a new film is applied over it. In the surgical treatment of near-root foci of infection, the root of the tooth is thoroughly cleaned of granulation and the shell of the cyst, stop bleeding, dry and glue the part of the root of the tooth protruding into the defect of the bone tissue of the jaw, preventing the glue from flowing onto the bone. After 1 – 2 minutes, the wound is dried, monitoring the filling of a peri-root jaw defect with a blood clot. Further management of the postoperative period is usual.
