Pharmacological action
Praziquantel, which is part of the drug, has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action on all phases of the development of tape helminths, which are parasitic in dogs and cats, causes paralysis and death of the helminth. Praziquantel is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract of the animal, its maximum concentration in blood plasma is reached after 30-60 minutes. Pyrantela pamoat – has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action against nematodes. Pyrantela pamoate is poorly absorbed, which ensures its prolonged effect on helminths in the intestine.
Indications
For the treatment and prevention of nematodoses (toxocariasis in, toksaskaridozov, untsinariozov, hookworm) and cestodosis (taeniasis, dipilidiozov, echinococcosis, diphyllobothriasis, mezotsestoidozov) dogs.
Contraindications
The drug should not be used for puppies as well as nursing females within 10 days after birth, as well as puppies younger than 3 weeks of age. Individual intolerance.
Composition
As an active ingredient in 1 tablet contains praziquantel – 50 mg and pyrantel pamoate – 150 mg, as well as auxiliary components.
Dosage and administration of
“Asinox plus” for dogs is administered orally individually, once, in the morning feeding with a small amount of feed or is administered forcibly in a dose of 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal weight.
A preliminary fasting diet and laxatives before deworming animals are not required.
For therapeutic purposes, dogs are dewormed according to indications, for prophylactic purposes – quarterly in a therapeutic dose.
Farmer and parrot dogs against teniosis causative agents are deworming from December to April every 45 days, from May to November – every 30 days.
Side effects
With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the active components of the drug and the appearance of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued.
