Pharmacological action
The mechanism of action of the active components included in the drug is based on the inhibition of fumarate reductase, persistent depolarization of the helminth muscle cells, impaired energy metabolism, which causes paralysis and death of helminths and helps to eliminate them from the gastrointestinal tract. It has anthelmintic action and pumpkin oil, which is part of the drug. It is also rich in saturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins (B1, D2, D6, C, P, PP, E), phospholipids. Pumpkin oil allows you to accelerate the regeneration of the intestines, injured by parasites, stimulates the immune processes in the animal’s body. No wonder he was nicknamed among the people “a pharmacy in miniature.”
Indications
Dirofen suspension is prescribed to cats for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes in case of nematodoses (toxocariasis, toxascaridosis, uncinariosis, hookworm infection) and cestodoses (tenyidoses, dipyldiosis, echinococcosis, diphyllozoids).
Contraindications
Contraindication to the use of the drug is individual intolerance to the components of the drug (including a history). Dirofen suspension should not be used in females in the first half of pregnancy, kittens younger than 3 weeks of age, emaciated, sick with infectious diseases and recovering animals.

Side effects of
When using Dirofen suspension in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications in animals, as a rule, are not observed. With increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug and the appearance of allergic reactions, its use is stopped and antihistamines and symptomatic agents are prescribed to the animal.
