Pharmacological action of

² њDironet ² ќ has a wide range of nematodicidal and cestodocidal effects, is active against round and ribbon helminths, which are parasitic in dogs and cats, including Toxocara canis, T. cati, Toxascaris leena lenomaoma, lexocaris leena lenocoma, lexocaris leena lenocoma, lexocaris leena lenocoma, lexocaris leena lenocoma, lexocaris leena lenocoma, lexocaris leena lenocoma, lexocaris leena lenocoma, lexocaris leena lenocoma, lexocaris leena lenocoma, lexoma, lena caninum, Trichuris vulpis, Echinococcus granulosus, E. multilocularis, Diphyllobothrium latum, Dipylidium caninum, Multiceps multiceps, Taenia spp., as well as larval developmental phases (microfilariae) Dirofilaria immitis and Dirofilaria repens.

The mechanism of action of ivermectin consists in binding to glutamate-dependent chlorine channels, located mainly in the swallowing and somatic muscles. The mechanism of action of the pyramid pamoate is to block neuromuscular transmission, impaired permeability of cell membranes and inhibition of cholinesterase, which also leads to paralysis and death of the parasite.

The mechanism of action of praziquantel is based on impaired glucose transport and microtubular function in cestodes, inhibition of fumarate reductase activity and ATP synthesis, increased permeability of cell membranes and impaired muscular innervation.

Indications

Prevention of dirofilariasis, as well as treatment and prevention of nematodoses and cestodoses of dogs and cats.

Contraindications

Do not use the drug together with piperazine derivatives, as well as pregnant and lactating animals, puppies and kittens up to three weeks of age. Dogs of the breeds of collie, sheltie, bobtail drug should be used under the supervision of a doctor.

Composition of

œDironet suspension in 1 ml as active substances contains: pyrantel pamoate – 15 mg, praziquantel – 5 mg and ivermectin – 0.006 mg and excipients.

Dosage and administration of

For nematodoses and cestodoses of the gastrointestinal tract: once, individually in the morning, at a dose of 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal weight or 1 ml of suspension per 1 kg of animal weight. When deworming animals weighing less than 0.5 kg, immediately before use, 0.3 ml of boiled water is added to the measured dose of the suspension, shaken thoroughly and given to the animal inside. A preliminary fasting diet and the use of laxatives are not required. For prophylactic purposes, dogs and cats are dewormed quarterly at the above dose, as well as before each vaccination.

To stop microfilariaemia in invasive animals, the drug is prescribed in a therapeutic dose, once a month. In order to prevent dirofilariasis in dogs, Dironet is used in the spring-summer-autumn period: once before the start of mosquito flight (March-April), then every month for the entire period from April to October, and last time in the season – 1 month after the end of the flight of mosquitoes (October-November).

Side effects

When using the drug according to the instructions side effects and complications are not observed.

Storage conditions
