Antimicrobial agent – sulfonamide.
Indications
In the complex treatment of diseases of the eyelids, conjunctiva, cornea, anterior segment of the choroid and lacrimal ducts caused by microorganisms sensitive to sulfacetamide.
For the prevention of infectious complications in the treatment of burns and injuries of the organ of vision.
Contraindications
Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, children’s age (up to 2 months).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
The use of the drug during pregnancy is only possible if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. You should refrain from breast-feeding during the period of use of the drug due to the lack of relevant clinical data.
Perhaps the development of nuclear jaundice in newborns whose mothers took the tablet form of sulfonamides during pregnancy, therefore, it is impossible to exclude the risk of jaundice when taking sulfanilamide in the dosage form, eye drops.
Special instructions
Patients with hypersensitivity to furosemide, thiazide diuretics, sulfonylurea or carbonic anhydrase inhibitors may have an increased sensitivity to sulfacetamide.
Possible excessive growth of microorganisms insensitive to sulfonamide, as well as fungal flora.
Decreased antibacterial activity of sulfonamides in the presence of high concentrations of naraaminobenzoic acid in the presence of a large amount of purulent discharge.
It is necessary to stop sulfanilamide therapy in case of allergy symptoms, as well as with increased pain and other signs of an infectious inflammatory process, an increase in the amount of purulent discharge.
Impact on the ability to drive transp. Wed and fur.: In case of blurred vision after installation, it is necessary to refrain from driving vehicles and engaging in potentially hazardous activities that require an increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions until the vision is restored.

Sodium sulfacetamide monohydrate

Sodium thiosulfate hydrochloride 1 mg hydrochloride 1 mg acid 1 mg 0
Water for injection up to 1 ml
Dosage and administration
1-2 drops in the conjunctival sac 6-8 times a day (every 2-3 hours). The course of treatment is 7-10 days.
The number of installations may be reduced as the state improves.
When treating organ diseases of the eye caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, dosing regimen – 1 drop every 2 hours, local application of sulfonamide must be combined with systemic therapy.
Side effects
Allergic reactions, burning, lacrimation, pain, itching in the eyes, transient blurring of vision after instillation, nonspecific conjunctivitis, development of superinfection, severe allergic reactions to sulfonamides (Steven-Johnson syndrome, toxic liver disease, toxico-epidermolysis, necrosiaminosis, toxico-epidermolysis, liver disease aplastic anemia).

Drug Interactions
Sulfacetamide enhances the effect of indirect anticoagulants.
Concurrent use with procaine. tetracaine, benzocaine reduces the bacteriostatic effect of sulfacetamide. Diphenin, para-aminosalicylic acid (PASK), salicylates increase its toxicity.
Incompatible with silver salts.
