Pharmacological action of
The vaccine induces immunity in cats to dermatophytosis 25-30 days after double administration with an interval of 10-14 days. The tension of post-vaccination immunity lasts at least 12 months. In one immunizing dose of the vaccine, the concentration of fungal elements is 50-80 million / cm3. The vaccine is harmless, areactogenic, has therapeutic and prophylactic properties.
Composition
The vaccine is made from Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis and Microsporum gypseum dermatophyte cells grown on selective nutrient media supplemented with stabilizer 0.3% formalin and an immunomodulator Ribotan 0.2%.
Dosage and Administration
The vaccine is intended for immunization for the prevention and treatment of microsporia and trichophytosis in cats. It is forbidden to vaccinate cats with fever in the second half of pregnancy, as well as patients with infectious and non-infectious diseases. Weakened and sick animals are preliminarily treated for an existing disease, and after recovery they are immunized against dermatophytosis. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly twice. Injections are carried out in opposite limbs from the inside of the thigh with an interval of 10-14 days in the following doses: for cats aged 1-3 months at 0, 5 cm3 for each injection older than 3 months – 1.0 cm3 for each injection. 10 days before vaccination, it is necessary to deworm the animal.
Overdose of
In case of overdose of the vaccine, as well as in the case of the use of a cold vaccine or non-sterile syringes and needles, in some cats, at the injection site, an individual post-vaccination reaction may occur in the form of seals and inflamed areas, and drowsiness may occur, which disappears after 2-3 days. When post-vaccination reactions occur, the animal must be at rest, treat the injection site with 5% iodine solution and treat as inflammation.
