Pharmacological action
Ivermek-gel has a pronounced acaricidal effect on larvae and mature individuals of sarcoptoid and demodecotic ticks. Ivermectin, which is part of the preparation, enhances the production of inhibition by the neurotransmitter, gamma-aminobutyric acid in parasites, which leads to impaired transmission of impulses from nerve cells to muscle cells, paralysis and death of the parasite. Panthenol has a wound healing and lidocaine local anesthetic effect with a pronounced antipruritic effect. Ivermectin is practically not absorbed through the skin and has an acaricidal effect on it, in the hair follicles and sebaceous glands for 5-7 days
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug. Infectious diseases patients, convalescent and exhausted animals cannot be treated.
Composition
1 ml of the drug contains 1 mg of ivermectin, 15 mg of panthenol, 50 mg of lidocaine, as well as the gel-forming base
Dosage and administration
Ivermek-gel is used to treat dogs and cats with notoedrosis, sarcoptosis, demodecosis and otodectosis. With the defeat of dogs and cats with demodicosis, dogs – sarby koptosis, cats – by means of notoedrosis, the drug is applied in a thin layer to the affected areas previously cleared of scabs and crusts at the rate of 0.2-0.3 ml per 1 kg of animal weight, gently rubbing from the periphery to the center with a capture of 1-2 cm of borderline healthy skin. To prevent drug licking, the animals are muzzled (or the jaws are closed with a loop from the braid), which is removed 15-20 minutes after application of the drug. The treatment is carried out 2-4 times with an interval of 5-7 days before the clinical recovery of the animal, which is confirmed by two negative results of acarological studies. Animals with extensive lesion sites are treated in two divided doses with an interval of one day, applying the drug to the affected area, first one and then the other half of the body. With acaroses complicated by a bacterial infection, The use of immunomodulatory and antibacterial drugs is recommended. With otodectosis (scabies) of the carnivorous, the external auditory meatus is cleaned of scabs and crusts and then 0.5-2.0 ml of Ivermek gel is injected into each ear (depending on the weight of the animal). In order to more fully treat the entire surface of the ear and ear canal, the auricle is folded in half and lightly massaged at its base. Processing is carried out 1-2 times with an interval of 5-7 days. If necessary, repeat the treatment. The drug must be administered in both ears, even in cases of otodectosis only one ear. In advanced cases of the disease complicated by otitis, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed.
