Description

Pharmacological action of

Onsior tablets refers to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Robenacoxib, which is part of the drug, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug of the coxib group, is a selective specific COX-2 inhibitor and has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. COX is presented in two forms: COX-1 – a constitutive form of the enzyme – performs protective functions, including in the gastrointestinal tract and kidneys. COX-2 – an inducible form of the enzyme – is responsible for the production of mediators that include PGE, causing pain, inflammation and heat. When administered orally, robenacoxib is rapidly absorbed in the intestine, entering the systemic circulation and most organs and tissues of more than 99% of robenacoxib binds to plasma proteins. Its maximum plasma concentration is observed after 0.5 hours, bioavailability is 49% in cats and 62% in dogs when using tablets with food and 84% without food. Robenacoxib is metabolized in the liver, excreted mainly with bile (about 70% in cats and about 65% in dogs) and partially with urine, the half-life from dogs is about 1.2 hours, and cats – 1.7 hours. Onsior ² žÑž tablets, according to the degree of exposure to the body, are classified as moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007).

Indications

Onsior tablets are prescribed for dogs and cats as anti-inflammatory and painkillers for inflammatory and pain syndromes of various origins, including acute and chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal system (arthritis, arthrosis, synovitis, dislocation), inflammatory diseases of soft tissues, as well as as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug in the postoperative period.

Contraindications

It is forbidden to use Onsior tablets to animals in a state of dehydration, hypovolemia and hypotension, as well as animals weighing less than 2.5 kg. If it is absolutely necessary to prescribe a drug for such animals, treatment is carried out under the constant supervision of a veterinarian. Contraindication to use is an individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug. The drug should not be used in animals with severe cardiac, renal and hepatic insufficiency.

Composition

Onsior tablets contain robenacoxib as an active ingredient. Onsior release tablets for dogs in 4 dosages with the content of robenacoxib: 5 mg / tablet, 10 mg / tablet, 20 mg / tablet. or 40 mg / tablet. As an auxiliary substance, Onsior ² žÑž tablets contain: yeast, microcrystalline cellulose, flavoring identical to beef, powdered cellulose, povidone (K-30), crospovidone, silica colloidal anhydrous and magnesium stearate.

Side effects

When using Onsior tablets in accordance with these instructions, side effects and complications in animals are usually not visible. In dogs, gastrointestinal upsets (vomiting, mild feces or diarrhea) are possible, these symptoms go away spontaneously and do not require the use of drugs. With individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the drug and the appearance of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is stopped and the animal is prescribed antihistamines and symptomatic agents.
